AD Concert Band – A Golden Celebration

A concert celebrating fifty years of AD Concert Band.

The concert is a celebration of our 50th anniversary and will include a varied repertoire from stage and screen, classical and contemporary music, of which the highlight will be a performance of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.

We have also commissioned two new pieces which will be premiered at the concert. These have been composed by:

  • Composer Philip Sparke, perhaps the most notable and prolific living composer for wind band, who also wrote a piece for our 40th anniversary.
  • Composer Katrine Aziz, an award winning young composer who we commissioned through the Adopt a Music Creator Scheme, in a bid to champion women in the arts.
