Award someone the Key to the City and receive your own key to access private and intriguing places around Birmingham and Solihull.
Do you know someone who is an excellent dancer, went above and beyond on a school project or is the greatest friend?
Is there anyone in your life who is so amazing they deserve the Key to the City?
On Friday 8th July, let them know at the Key Exchange Ceremony!
Bring them along to an informal ceremony at The Core Theatre where you will award them the Key to the City, and they might just award you one too (don’t worry, volunteers will be on hand to guide you through it). You accept this key by signing the Ledger of keyholders kept at the Key Exchange Ceremony Site. Once your ceremony has been completed, you will be presented with a specially designed Yale key in a beautifully designed box, with an accompanying passport that acts as your guide to 21 locations exclusively accessible to holders of the Key to the City. You might even find one hidden location very close by. Sites are accessible until 7th August (see Key To The City website for opening times at specific sites).
What makes it better? This event is completely FREE.
No need to register in advance, just show up any time between 11am and 7pm.
No partner to nominate? No problem! Our volunteers will help you find you a partner. Key holders must be 16+.
