Funny To The Core is the monthly comedy club in the Studio at The Core, bringing the best and funniest UK comedy talent to Solihull.
Headlined by Live at The Apollo star Slim! Slim is one of the UK’s biggest stand up stars and the undisputed king of the Black British comedy circuit.
Physical, ebullient and unashamedly for the people, his multi award-winning 20 year career has seen him perform to thousands all over the world. He’s sold out several smash hit tours, including the Hackney Empire numerous times over. Slim has also supported several high profile US acts including Kevin Hart and Dave Chappelle.
His popular brand of humour is generous, smart and bursting with infectious energy. He has toured the world extensively including the whole of Europe, Barbados, Jamaica, Qatar, the Falkland Islands, Dubai and even performed at the N.A.T.O Headquarters in Belgium.
Slim is also the first Black British comedian to sell out the London Palladium with his own show.
Slim has an extensive list of TV credits including Live at the Apollo (BBC Two) Live at the Hackney Empire (BBC One), Sorry I Didn’t Know (ITV1), Mel Giedroyc: Unforgiveable (Dave), Rhod Gilbert’s Growing Pains (Comedy Central) and The Russell Howard Hour (Sky One).
Opening the show is Sam Picone! Described by UK comedy heavyweight Mo Gilligan as “a natural on stage”, Sam Picone is a London-based comedian, writer, and content creator.
Get ready for astute observations and clever dry wit. Sam’s writing credits span Channel 4 and the BBC, while his viral sketches have amassed millions of social media views.
With up-and-coming star Micah Hall! Hailing from South London, Micah has quickly become a rising star in the comedy scene with his unique blend of hard-hitting honesty and laid-back humour. He regularly performs at the UK’s most legendary comedy venues solidifying his status as one of the most exciting new talents in the industry.
Micah has performed stand up on BAFTA winning The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan and won a much coveted place on the annual Pleasance Comedy Reserve at the Edinburgh Fringe. He also joined Babatunde Aléshé as support on his smash hit nationwide tour, Babahood.
