
The Core Theatre plays host to music, comedy, musical theatre, legends of stage and sport, and cinema this month!
Creators Theatre Company present multi-award winning musical Come from Away from Friday 31 October until Sunday 2 November, in a musical production showcasing a true celebration of hope, humanity and the power of community.
On Wednesday 5 November The Core Theatre screens They Shall Not Grow Old to mark Remembrance Day. Transforming archive footage more than a century old, director Peter Jackson brings to life the people who can best tell the story of World War I: the men who were there.
Also on the big screen on 5 November you can see the National Theatre Live screening of Inter Alia, a searing examination of modern motherhood and masculinity starring Oscar-nominated Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl, Saltburn).
Comedy then takes centre stage on Friday 7 November with monthly comedy club Funny to The Core in the Studio with headliner Hal Cruttenden.
With a raucous mix of razor sharp humour and toe tapping pizzazz, The Full Monty is a heart-warming upbeat comedy presented by St Augustine's MTC, from Tuesday 11 to Saturday 15 November. Then on Friday 14 November, enjoy some fresh new comedy talent in the Studio, or try your hand behind the mic yourself! The Comedy Lounge comedy workshop is followed by an open mic night.
The Core’s popular Hong Kong Cinema programme continues with the screening of In Broad Daylight on Monday 17 November. The films continue on the evening of 17 November with the third annual Short is Beautiful film festival, showcasing the very best of West Midlands filmmaking talent.
Talented musicians and dancers bring you the sound and fun of Ireland in The Irish House Party on Tuesday 18 November.
On Wednesday 19 November the legendary Jimmy Tarbuck OBE relives many of the most iconic moments of a glittering career on stage and screen. The following night, former Aston Villa, Arsenal and England footballer Paul Merson takes to the stage for an evening of unfiltered stories, laughter, and behind-the-scenes revelations.
Finally, Saturday 22 November sees the screening of the Tina Turner music biopic, What’s Love Got To Do With It?, in collaboration with the Soroptimists to mark this year’s 16 Days of Activism.
