Ghostly apparitions, thrilling mysteries and comedy legends come to The Core this autumn with a jam-packed programme of outstanding drama! Here’s what’s coming up…

On Wednesday 2 September, join the HandleBards at The Core Theatre for a hilariously high-octane production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth like you’ve never seen before. Forget the tears and tragedy, this Macbeth is chock full of mishaps, mayhem and mirth – and suitable for all ages and apparitions.

Don’t miss The Hound of the Baskervilles, a superb Victorian gothic thriller based on the classic Sherlock Holmes mystery. This atmospheric one-man stage adaptation comes to the Studio at The Core on Saturday 19 September.

Also in the Studio on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 October is Cult Figure, a celebration of British comedy icon and Carry On star Kenneth Williams. This hilarious production will tell the great comedian’s story in his own words, using anecdotes, writings and some of the material for which the comedy legend was so well-known.

Fire Fire comes to the Studio on Friday 16 October. This exciting, moving drama is about people taking big risks to protest, people who love to hate them, and how some people discover they have a deeper purpose in common.

On Tuesday 2 and Wednesday 3 November, Dickens Theatre Company present A Christmas Carol in The Core Theatre. This ‘Revision on Tour’ show is perfect for GCSE students and lovers of literature alike.

Finally, The Phantom Raspberry Blower of Old London Town comes to the Studio on Saturday 7 November. Immortalised by The Two Ronnies, this Jack the Ripper parody is raspberry-jam-packed with Spike Milligan’s and Ronnie Barker’s love of surreal absurdism, clever puns and quick-fire jokes.
